Rose Garden, Portland, OR

We took a week long “Taste of the Northwest” tour. We flew into Portland, Oregon, and stayed at the Westin Hotel in downtown. For the next week our transportation was by bus. We took a tour of Portland guided by a local. The high point of the Portland tour had to be the Rose Gardens. Here are some photos from the Rose Garden. We also took a tour of some wineries, went to the top of Mt. Hood (incredible lodge there), drove along the Columbia River, and stopped at Multnomah Falls. Great weather and great scenery! Harbor Springs Bike Ride

The weather in Harbor Springs was gorgeous. It got all the way up to 85 degrees one day. Occasionally there were some light rains but mostly clear skies and very mild temperatures. In fact the temps were so mild we decided to rent bicycles. Michigan has loads of paved bicycle trails. You can ride from Harbor Springs to Charlevoix without getting onto any roads that you have to share with cars. St. Ignace, MI Car Show

Nancy and I took a road trip to Harbor Springs, Michigan, in June and July. Nancy drove her new Lexus and I rode my BMW R1200RT. It was a fun road trip. We left on a Saturday night and drove to Waco. We made it to the cottage on Wednesday afternoon. While spending a couple weeks in the cool weather of Harbor Springs, Michigan, we stumbled across this car show in the upper peninsula.
